Now I understand a little better...

Sometimes I catch myself feeling certain feelings that seem a little crazy, maybe even ungrateful. Here I am living in the most beautiful place in the world, surrounded by people I love to pieces yet somehow it feels like a little something is missing sometimes. I’m not even conscious of what it is in those moments so practice my mindfulness and gratitude and all of the things this life has taught me so far. Then, by chance last week I came across a for sale website which brings me to (to quote Oprah) that Aha moment when it all makes sense again.
I have lived in some beautiful and interesting places growing up but this place, where I first rode a horse with my dad, where I first spent a Christmas day with the Red deer stags who had come down from the mountain to the house yard for some reason to begin their spectacular mating season roar. Where my days began early milking the cow with mum then going into the old jail cell to start the generator so I could watch the Huckleberry Hound cartoons while I drank my warm milk. These beautiful pics of the property we loved so much called Stonehouse, an old Stagecoach stop, are a treasure for me to have found. There is a little piece of me and a little piece of Surf meets Southwest in each and every one of them. ♥
